The 9th Cut

The 9th Cut
The Ninth Cut, aims to redefine the art of butchery and dining with an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and quality. The Butchery, Restaurant, and Deli are crafted to create a unique destination for meat lovers in Dubai.
The lighting concepts was a direct response to the client brief, the product and the craft should take centre stage.
The journey begins as you pass through a feature display of knifes set in butchers blocks into the butchery and deli where an interplay of light and shadow creates a dramatic, gallery-like atmosphere, with the lighting strategically used to highlight select produce and products throughout.
As you transition through the buthery’s dramatic backlit red curtains you step into the restaurant where low-glare downlights discreetly accentuate each table. Layers of light are incorporated into the coffered ceiling and to low level joinery to provide a warm and intimate dining experience.
Diners attention is drawn back to the product and craft, the show kitchen, by using a cooler colour temperature to create contrast between the two interconnected spaces and further highlighted by the dynamic feature, created by simple LED strip conceled behind perforated cladding panels and controlled in a variety of arrangements to mimic smoke and steam, which runs the entire length of the kitchen pass.
As a result of this dichotomy and meticulous attention to detail, the guests enjoy a unique immersive experience.
